Mercurial Shimaguni

Follow standard Shimaguni rules:

• Shade some number of cells (at least one) in each region. All shaded cells within a region must be connected, forming an “island”.
• Islands cannot be adjacent (though they may touch at corners). Islands in adjacent regions cannot be the same size.

Additionally, some thermometers are given. Regions with thermometers must have island sizes strictly increasing, from bulb to tip.

Venerean Kurotto

Follow standard Kurotto rules:

• Shade some cells, forming regions of shaded cells on the grid.
• Circles may not be shaded.
• Numbers count the total sizes of all shaded regions that touch them orthogonally.

Additionally, each region must touch exactly one other region congruent to it. (Noncongruent regions may still touch.)

Mundane Wall

Shade a connected group of cells with no 2×2 region fully shaded.

On each given border, exactly one of the two cells must be shaded.

Martial Heyawake

Follow standard Heyawake rules:

• Shade some cells so that no two shaded cells are adjacent, and the unshaded cells are orthogonally connected.
• There cannot be a vertical or horizontal line of unshaded cells that crosses two borders.
• Numbers in regions count how many shaded cells are in that region.

Additionally, designate two shaded cells in each row and column as “stars”. Stars may not touch at a corner (though they may touch non-star shaded cells).

Region numbers count stars as two shaded cells rather than one.
